Introducing Kymera 328i
Superior, Intelligent Spectrograph for Life and Physical Science
Andor Technology Ltd., an Oxford Instruments company and world leader in scientific imaging and spectroscopy solutions, today announced the launch of the Kymera 328i imaging spectrograph. This highly modular spectrograph features patented Adaptive Focus, quadruple on-axis grating turret and TruResTM technology, delivering superb spectral resolution performance. The unmatched configurability and highly intuitive user interface make it the perfect platform for a wide range of routine and more advanced spectroscopy experiments.
The intelligent, motorised Adaptive Focus of the Kymera allows automated access to the best optical performance for any grating, camera or wavelength range configuration. The TruResTM option delivers unmatched spectral resolution for a third-meter focal length spectrograph, with performance enhancements exceeding 30%, extracting the very best performance from the Kymera without the need for a grating change or post-processing spectra mathematical alterations. Greater definition of dense Raman or plasma optical signatures can be achieved without compromise on bandpass, from UV to SWIR, at the touch of a button.
The Kymera 328i sets a new standard when it comes to configurability, being the only imaging spectrograph on the market to offer dual output ports, dual input ports and indexed quadruple grating turret with the latest eXpressIDTM RFID technology. This gives academics and OEMs a unique range of light coupling and spectral performance options to best match current and future setup requirements. It also greatly simplifies integration into complex, multi-sample or multi-source experiments based on spectroscopy modalities such as Raman, Fluorescence, Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES), Absorption or Second Harmonic Generation (SHG). With eXpressIDTM, tedious manual optimisation of grating turrents will be a thing of the past. Antoine Varagnat, Product Manager at Andor Technology, said; “The Kymera 328i is the latest addition to Andor’s range of market-leading ‘intelligent’ and innovative spectrographs. Adaptive Focus and TrueResTM give the user an unprecedented level of control over system performance. Combined with Andor’s high resolution CCD, EMCCD and sCMOS detectors, these features greatly enhance applications yielding broadband and dense spectral fingerprints, for example, Raman-based analysis of pharmaceutical compounds, highly crystalline materials and bio-samples/tissue, or LIBS-based analysis of complex alloys andpowders. The quad-grating turret, dual input/output ports and large range of coupling interfaces also makes Kymera the most versatile spectrograph on the market, offering unique potential for the evolution of seamless setups for many years to come.”
